Homage to Perfection

To pay homage to perfection: That is the goal of the Olympus Sound System. Its claim is simple: to be the most ambitious, most complex, and most innovative of all existing speaker systems.

Every last bit of creative, mechanical and technical potential ADAM scientists could call on has been realized in this loudspeaker system. It is actually accurate to call it incomparable, since it is completely unique and therefore in a class of its own. All aspects of the best possible sound reproduction regardless of costs or size have been optimized and integrated in a surprising new concept. Every detail has been painstakingly pored over with the utmost meticulousness.

Benchmark in loudspeaker development

We proudly present a system consisting of eight columns, twelve built-in amplifiers, sixty (yes, 60!) individual drivers and a DSP “brain”. Due to the modular nature of the system, a variety of fascinating and comprehensive designs are possible. From the outset, the Olympus knew only one purpose: to realize a loudspeaker system that gets closer to perfection than any other.

As little as language can convey the impact of music, so little can words begin to communicate the sonic experience produced by this loudspeaker system. There is only one way to truly become a believer – to make the acquaintance of this milestone in the development of audio reproduction…but be prepared to spend some time - it will be an acquaintance of a unique kind…an experience you will never forget.

Radiation Characteristics

The ADAM Olympus is capable of generating three different radiating characteristics: monopole (‘normal’), dipole, and bipole.

OSS Audio Processor

At the core of the Olympus, there is a digital audio processor that prepares and optimizes the input signal for further processing in several ways (frequency-separating filter, delays, IIR and FIR filters, etc.). It features both a digital and an analogue input and is equipped with double AD/DA converters – the second converter works in the area of smallest signals to achieve improved distortion and noise values. This guarantees dynamics of more than 27 bit (!) at 192 kHz sampling frequencies. Any sonic losses can be eliminated this way.

Bass range re-experienced

Each of the subwoofer columns feature two 18” woofers, which are equipped with a high efficiency neodymium magnet and double spiders. Each subwoofer is driven by a 1.000 Watt PWM amplifier. The enormous 4” voice coils are capable of putting power of corresponding magnitude into absolutely precise lowest frequencies. The enormous ‘short-wound’ voice coils are able to execute a linear excitation of ± 2.5 cm without increasing distortions. With moderate insertion of bass-reflex support they are tuned to a low cut-off frequency of 18 Hz.

"...the art of making a loudspeaker disappear..."

"Speaking of huge, the ADAM Audio Olympus Sound System was every bit as impressive sonically as its physical dimensions would suggest. As physically imposing as the system looked, the overall size and scale of the music was actually as realistic as one could summon at a trade show. This is the art of making a loudspeaker disappear no matter its girth."
