Jason WindeCrafting Emotion Through Sound with ADAM Audio

How South African musician and producer Jason Winde built an inspiring creative space centered around ADAM Audio A77H monitors.

For Jason Winde, music isn’t just a profession—it’s a calling. “Music has been my passion and my life’s mission since I was little,” he says. “It’s the only way I’ve ever been able to truly express myself.” That lifelong drive to translate emotion into sound naturally led him from performing to production, allowing him to “create what I hear myself.”

Jason Winde’s studio, located in South Africa, is a warm and inviting creative space that stands apart from the more sterile, overly technical environments he’s often encountered. “I feel that my studio has a light and friendly energy about it,” he explains. “Most studios feel cold and too professional – hindering the performance of musicians. A home studio is inherently a more calm and relaxed space. The layout and flow invite creativity and make people comfortable taking initiative.”

Fifteen years in the making, the space has evolved continuously, accommodating projects across genres—from Celtic and jazz ensembles to orchestral recordings and choirs. The setup includes a main control room that doubles as a live space for recording acoustic instruments and vocals, alongside a dedicated drum room that serves as an amp room and booth. A smaller secondary studio allows collaborators to record demos or do editing.

While Jason Winde’s credits list producer, engineer, and composer, he’s quick to identify as a musician first. “I’m a producer and engineer by virtue of the fact that I needed a way to get my musical ideas recorded and out to the world,” he explains.

That musician-first mindset has led him to an impressive list of collaborators and clients. He’s worked on campaigns and productions for Apple, Red Bull, Spitfire Audio, Shoprite, Epidemic Sound, and major networks like Warner Bros and Discovery. For the past three years, he’s also been responsible for scoring music for MrBeast’s YouTube videos, which collectively reach hundreds of millions of viewers.

Currently, he’s producing and engineering Zolani Mahola’s new album—the South African artist best known for co-writing Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) with Shakira – alongside UK producer Hannah Vasanth. “It’s been an incredible journey working with such talented people,” says Jason Winde.

Like many producers, Jason Winde battled ear fatigue in long sessions—until he switched to ADAM Audio A77H monitors. “Before switching over to ADAM Audio monitors, I used to get ear fatigue several times a day,” he recalls. “I actually haven’t had that feeling in years since switching over to ADAM, even in long sessions that go on for hours.” The A77H’s combination of clarity, power, and design instantly won him over. “The highs are crisp and accurate, and I record a lot of strings, so hearing the top end super accurately when mixing is essential.”

Jason Winde complements his A77H setup with a Sub10 MK2 subwoofer, which enhances the precision of his low end. “It’s not for a lack of bass,” he notes. “I love the added punch and low-end accuracy a sub brings – it takes strain off the mains and makes a noticeable difference.” And despite having spent time in studios equipped with far more expensive systems, Jason Winde remains loyal. “I honestly still prefer mine,” he admits. “The ADAM Audios have an incredible sonic sound and a really flat response – while still sounding exciting.”
