The Story Behind the ADAM Audio Tweeter
The X ART Technology
One notable innovation was the introduction of the X–ART tweeter in the new SX and AX Series in 2009 as well as the newest A Series launched in 2022. The X-ART (eXtended Accelerated Ribbon Technology) tweeters and midranges incorporate a new approach to the Air Motion Transformer concept.
X-ART strikes a new path concerning the kinematics of moving air, resulting in a dramatic improvement in the quality of audio reproduction. The X-ART membrane consists of a pleated diaphragm in which the folds compress or expand according to the audio signal applied to them. The result is that air is drawn in and squeezed out, like the bellows of an accordion.
The S ART Technology
2017 saw the launch of the Adam Audio flagship S Series in the aftermath of S-ART development in 2016. The S-ART tweeter’s driver legendarily precise transient response and its ability to reproduce the finest of high-end details, free of distortion and with natural-sounding dynamics, are the cornerstones of ADAM Audio’s worldwide reputation as a leading manufacturer of indispensable audio equipment.
The S-ART tweeter also incorporates the HPS (High-frequency Propagation System) waveguide, developed for the S Series range using advanced computer modeling methods. This feature enhances the speakers’ dispersion, ensuring a consistent and uniform spread of sound.
The U ART Technology
The U-ART tweeter used in the T Series is made of a high-tech polymide film and provides pristine and extended high-frequency response up to 25 kHz.
It produces four times as much air movement as a piston-based design thereby creating higher sound pressure levels (SPLs) with lower distortion. This brings the famous ADAM tweeter design to a much more affordable monitor range and makes true ADAM Audio sound available to a wider range of users.
