Founded in 2010 and employing a 15-strong team, Resonant Arts has become one of the Russian capital’s most successful audio facilities.

Offering music recording, mastering and composing services, the studio has carved out a niche based not only on production value but also visual and ideological values that focus on a stylish aesthetic and a strong work ethic. It’s perhaps the intensely retro visual flair at Resonant Arts that most clearly shows how the studio has forged a distinct personality that has attracted a wide client base of both bands and brands, from Russian pop acts to global companies like Apple Inc. Its online photo gallery shows shelves that house old cameras and faded monochrome portrait photos in period frames; tables present old desk lamps draped in fringe, vintage matchboxes and old-fashioned televisions. Yet between shots of old Bakelite phones and period armchairs in front of exposed brickwork come pictures of modern audio production workspaces replete with the latest DAW technology and premium recording gear.

Given the attention to detail this team puts into creating the right visual impression, it’s clear that it is equally fastidious in selecting audio equipment. “We work with the ADAM A8X and ADAM A5X studio monitors”, says Alexander Pavlov, one of the studio’s resident sound engineers. “They are not the most top-end monitors in the ADAM Audio line-up, but they are quite enough for the tasks that I set. Working with different monitors, we came to the conclusion that these studio monitors perfectly combine the price and quality that we need in our mixing rooms. That’s why we chose these monitors.”

“The ADAM Audio monitors do not deceive […] and create a very detailed sound, so I can hear any changes and trust the sound that I get.”

Audio gear, Alexander notes, should be about benefit, about supporting the producer’s creative process. “Monitors should become a true partner of the sound engineer. The ADAM Audio monitors do not deceive – this feature captivates us in ADAM products. And the ADAM monitors create a very detailed sound, so I can hear any changes and trust the sound that I get.” Yet their polished look also fits with the studio’s meticulous interior design. “Any detail of the interior, including equipment, must match the atmosphere”, Alexander explains, “and that has a strong value for our studio.”
